On October 17th the government was shut down due to the budget. Thousands of people were not payed for 16 days because their job were funded by the government.  This has put a strain on the Republican Party, some want to drain the budget and shut down the government again and others want to just let it go. Most democrats are still standing alongside Obama, but others thought he should have let the republicans win. I've learnt that the government needs to grow up and act like adults. The passed a spending bill that gives the government until January.
